Here are how our teams did these last two weeks!
11 RED
Once again, we found ourselves competing in the gold bracket after winning our pool. We had several girls playing positions that they were not accustomed to playing due to a couple of absences and performed well. They were nervous, but really did a nice job of embracing the opportunity. We eventually lost to a very strong, and sharp, Sting White team who really overmatched us with their size.
A specific highlight of the day, among many, was the fact that on a perfectly placed 1st contact by our libero, our setter was able to deliver an awe-inspiring (picturesque) back set to our alert right side who connected for the kill. It was the first back set we saw all year from any team and the gym was shocked, and impressed. Very cool moment for an ever-improving team. The coaches are excited to compete in the Badger Region Championships this coming weekend.
12 RED
I AM 12's played at the Adidas Youth league Saturday. After some hard fought matches in pool play, the girls finished strong with 2 match wins. Coach KC and I appreciated the effort by setters Katlin and Calli all day. Nora's perfect serving in set 3 of final match gave us the final burst to stay unbeaten in bracket play.
On to Badger Region next weekend. Yeah volleyball!!
14 BLACK
Last weekend on the 9th, the 14 Black team had a good day for volleyball. They headed to Green Bay to play up an age level. While our record didn’t reflect the success, they played their best volleyball all season. "We had a great offensive day while our team defense was scrappy and kept the pressure on our opponents." - Coach Fabian
#ShoutOut to Grace who had the best serving day of career along with an awesome setting day, and to Molly for giving an awesome debut performance in the middle.
14 RED
On March 9th the 14 Red team went to Fond Du Lac and were a little short handed that week. They played up that day and managed to go 2-2. This was a great prep for the Badger Region Tournament coming up! #ShoutOut to Meredith Bock for setting for the first time in 2 years, Maddie Cadieux for bringing a lot of energy and fight, ad Natalee Roloff for her scrappy defense, and lastly Sydney Hoeft for fighting through the sickness! Very proud of the team and how they carried themselves over the weekend!
15 BLACK
Our 15's Black team started pool play with 2 convincing wins at the Fonda Classic on March 9th. The 3rd pool match we ended up losing in the 3rd game 17-16 because of a cap rule to go on to the gold bracket.
#ShoutOut to the efforts of Camille Mirek, our middle hitter, and Sharon Wilkins, our right side. They are always ready and are valuable contributers.
That last pool play loss took the wind out of us and it carried into round one of pool play and we lost first round.
The 15 black team headed to Whitewater and finished 2nd in their pool and lost the 1st round of the gold bracket in 3. We are still working on our mental toughness. I'm very happy with our team obsorbing the drills from practice and using them in game situation. Here we come Kentucky!
16 RED
The 16's finished 7th overall this weekend at the Badger region Championships. They struggled in their first two matches of the gold bracket but came out on top to end the day.
#ShoutOut to Sydney Wilson who played excellent all weekend.
Also to the whole team for pulling it together when our libero went down in a collision the final match on Sunday. Katie is constantly picking the team up so it was great to see how much they wanted to win for her. Next stop, Louisville, KY!
17 RED
Back to back weekends of play. They took 3rd on the 10th and this weekend they finish at the Badger Region Championships on a WIN! They won the silver bracket!
"Overall consistent hitting and passing lead us to victories over strong teams. Consistent effort, intensity, and communication from all players made us unstoppable while taking over the silver bracket." - Coach Wienkes
