Tournament Recaps 1/23-24/21

15 WHITE

15 White took on some tough competition in the Hive Hysteria Tournament in Kewaskum this past weekend. We started off strong in our first match against Sting United coming out on top, closing out the second game 25-7!

#Shoutout to Megan for her 10 point serving run this match!

Next we took on North Star, which gave us a run for our money, unfortunately falling short at 25-27 in the second set. Despite losing this match, our girls stayed positive with high energy and support for each other the entire time.

#Shoutout to our defense for putting up strong blocks against an intense outside and our back row (Lydia, Julia, & Ava) for keeping everything up!

To finish out pool play, we took on River City coming out on top with a win, which put us in 2ndplace in our pool and heading to compete in the silver bracket.

#Shoutout to Avery and Lizzy for leading us in kills this match!

Finally, we took on the Junior Red Knights to take 1st in the Silver bracket. Our first set we came out on top with a score of 25-22. Heading into the second set we were eager to finish this in 2! Our team started off strong with another 7 point serving run by Megan. We did not let up and finished the match strong with a score of 25-17. Overall we had a very successful weekend, taking 1st in Silver! We are eager to take on our next competition and see what we can accomplish from here!

16 BLACK

he 16Black team had a great weekend down at the Freeze Fest in Kenosha. We finished 2nd overall and played great all day – and handily beat the Premier 16-1 team in pool play.

#Shoutout to Macey Steier for her excellent serving in the championship match!

Every member of the team contributed and did something great and we really are starting to build on successes. Congrats to the girls and we are very excited to compete again soon!!

16 RED

16 Red had its second tournament of the season and pushed it's overall record above .500. The day started with a dominating performance in the set winning 25-19. Some inconsistencies and errors cropped up in set 2 but they did still pull out a win 25-23. In the second match they just could not find a rhythm and started in a large hole in both sets and eventually lost 25-15 and 25-19. This set up a showdown in the 3rd place game with IAM 17 Red. 16 Red pulled out a hard fought victory(25-22, 25-23) behind the tough serving of Meredith Bock and Emily Dickman and very calculated attacks of Jennacy Wille and Ella Ahlstrand. The teams overall record is now 5-4 and they are really starting to play well in spots. Their 3rd tournament is coming up this weekend in Green Bay and they look to continue to improve with another top finish.

17 RED

We attend the Junior Freeze tournament down in Pleasant Prairie this past weekend and we played some really good ball with all 3 matches being close. We were able to defeat SWVBC in 3 but lost to MWP 16 Black in 3. Good news is that we got to play our own 16 Red team for 3rd place! We had two close games but they bested us in both.

#Shoutout to our 16 Red team for playing through both games and coming out with the win.

P.S. We want a rematch! :) 18 RED
