12 RED

This weekend 12 Red played in a one day tournament at the Milwaukee Sting Center! We had a slow start in the morning, losing our first match of the day against sting 11 gold in 3 sets  In our next match against sting 12 silver, it took a little bit to get in a rhythm but once we did the girls were unstoppable. They found great energy and played a great game of aggressive volleyball to win in 3 sets. In the silver bracket we first played Southwest 12s and dominated in a 2 set win! It was great for some of our players who aren’t as comfortable with serving to get a chance to show all of the hard work they have done in practice!

#Shoutout to Aubryn for having some great aggressive serves and even a few aces!

Our final match was against sting 12 white, and after a close 25-23 first set win, we weren’t able to finish the game off. It was a day full of challenges and the tiredness started to show in the end, but the girls were constantly putting in effort to improve their play throughout the day which was awesome! Overall, our consistency in serving and hitting were highlights of the day!

#Shoutout to Addi, Avlynn, and Abby for all earning a serving pin this weekend!
#Shoutout to Ana for earning the tournament MVP award! She continuously took aggressive swings at the net and has been gaining more confidence on the court!

14 WHITE

We completed in Fond Du Lac last weekend and we had some tough challenges throughout the day. In our Pool we went 3 with all 3 teams really testing our endurance! Our first match was against a Wisconsin Northern Lights team and we came out with good rallies but couldn't find our groove from the service line. After dropping set one we bounced back with great serves and serve receive to make it go 3 where we were warmed up by then and won 2-1. In our 2nd match we faced a friendly G-Force team where it was close the entire time. in Game 3 we came up clutch with some tough serves and inched out 2-1. In our final match we played a talented 1-Wisconsin team from Stevens Point. They were a tall team and had rockets for serves. We played fearless volleyball and coming up with some epic blocks in this match from both Isley and Maia! We went to 3 sets but got caught in a rotation with their best server and lost 1-2.

This put us in the silver bracket but by the time we got to play the team seamed a bit tired. We played tough but but couldn't put together enough plays in a row to get the win in the Silver Semi-Finals. Overall we went 2-2 but we came back with a ton of things to work on as we get ready for the 2nd weekend of Badger Power League! Good fight ladies!

15 RED

This weekend we played at the Penguin Freeze. We started out the tournament playing aggressive ball and took control early in our first set.

#ShoutOut to Becca, for serving up 9 aces in our first service rotation!

Our level of play stayed consistent the entire day and we cruised to a tournament championship winning every set. We played well enough to give us a chance to run a 5-1 for the first time. We also shuffled a few players into positions they hadn't played yet this season. I'm happy to report that everyone adjusted and played like they've been doing it all along. Hopefully we can carry the momentum into next weekend for the Badger Region Power League.

17 RED

17 Red was eager to get back to competition after their strong finish at the Prep Dig Resolution and after two awesome weeks of practice. They played in the single-day Penguin Freeze in the 18's division along with 5 other teams. After an easier first match win they played an extremely strong River City 17 Blue team who is currently undefeated in the Badger Region Power League. Last season 17 Red won one and last one against this same team with the loss unfortunately happening in the Badger Region Championship Gold Final. After a tough and exciting back and forth match 17 Red was able to finish off a 3-set victory. Going into the afternoon they were able to win a crossover match and Gold semifinal match both in convincing fashion. In the Gold finals they once again faced off against River City 17 Blue. This time they played with even more poise and precision winning 2 sets to none. Going 5-0 in match play, 10-1 in set play, and winning the tournament were big accomplishments. However, being able to beat a team two times in one day that they targeted in the preseason was a big step forward to what this team can do. The growth in chemistry, scrappy and strong team defense, and solid serve receive were the big focal points to the weekend.

#Shoutout to Meredith Bock for her consistency throughout the day and big time defensive plays in some of the teams biggest moments/points at the libero position. She is 17 Red's tournament MVP for the championship weekend!

17 WHITE

The team’s growth over the last few weeks has been exciting to watch and their hard work was evident as we took 1st place in the Silver Bracket at the FC Elite tournament! We had 2 players away for the weekend, so thanks to Greta from 15 Red for lending a helping hand & playing with us. We were 3 - 2 overall, only losing to two FC Elite teams, one of which went on to win the gold bracket. Our strength and determination have improved and we played all matches to 2 sets each. During our second set against Club Breakout 17s, we were down by 11 points, but we continued to play tough! Congrats to Payton V for not folding under pressure and serving 10 in a row to get us back in the game to finish the match with a win! Keziah and Payton V also stepped up to play positions they do not normally play when we have a full team, but they both did an incredible job! All the girls looked great this weekend, so keep up the good work!

#Shoutout to Payton Vorpahl for achieving MVP Status at the FC Elite Open!
