Couple of team splayed this weekend and the winning streak continues for I AM!
16 RED
We played at Center Court in a one day tournament hosted by Midwest Penguins. Again we were short players but had plenty of positive attitudes! We have been doing a great job on our serving and passing front which keeps us in system most of our matches. We then are allowed to move the ball around effectively. We played some close games but we ended up
on top and playing in Championship against another undefeated team, The Midwest Penguins! They out sized us in almost every position but we we determined to compete! We took the first game in a slow and steady comeback. Game 2 they dominated us pretty good. Game three we had made some tactical changes but couldn't execute at a high enough level to pull off the win. Playing with 7 or 8 players at a high level for a full day cone be exhausting but we saw the fight the girls put up and were very proud of the 2nd place finish.
#Shoutout to Bri for coming up with some big blocks and kills in the championship match! She was our Tournament MVP!

17 RED
17 Red played in a single day tournament this past weekend to help prepare for the final weekend of Power League. Overall it was a solid day. We continue to make strides in setting higher expectations for ourselves and identifying things that are always "must do". We had a match that we would like to have back but are ready to play that team again in the first round of Power League.
#Shoutout to Maddie Metke for filling in for our team over the weekend. She brought a great attitude and energy to the team and did exactly what the team needed her to do to help us be successful.
#Shoutout to Alicia Burgos for bringing a new level of play to her offense to create more balance for our team. Her efforts will be huge as the season goes forward. She is your tournament MVP!
18 RED
This past weekend, 18Red played in the UWW Open and was able to go 4-0. We clearly showed that we were the best team in the gym. Because of this, we were able to play with lineups and give experience to girls in new positions.
Despite being thrown into new roles, our girls played consistently throughout the day and had fun doing it. In the past, we have played down to competition at times, but we left the gym knowing we played clean volleyball and gave it our all. We are excited to use this weekend as fuel moving into our final two tournaments of the season, hoping to continue making progress.
This weekend, our MVP is Hannah Helmbrecht. During this season, Hannah has had many goals in regards to consistency and technique. We were very impressed with how she made adjustments and played fearlessly in our matches.
