12 BLACK

The Girls 12 Black team came out on fire at the Reindeer Rumble! They went 4-1, earning 2nd place at the home tournament. Olivia earned the first overpass kill pin of the season, and Greta, Hazel, Lauren, and Aalysah received serving pins. MVP goes to Greta for her defense in the backrow and serving for the day. We had very little serving errors and got into a nice rhythm playing together. Looking forward to a fun season!

12 BOYS

Our IAM 12s boys team was asked to fill in at IAM’s first girls home tournament at the new facility! Because of the short notice add on we were short on players. Special shout out to the IAM 11s boys team for helping step in when we needed extra help! Even though our team was composed of players who had never played together and playing new positions, we took second in our pool and advanced to the gold bracket. We lost in the first round of  the gold bracket, but not without a fight. Our team should be very proud of the successes that came out of the adversity we faced on Saturday! We had exactly 6 people on our roster for every game, meaning that every player played every point of every match.

One player stuck out the most as our MVP for the tournament. This boy was an obvious leader on the court. He did an incredible job helping our new friends get acquainted with our rotations and making sure everyone knew their role. He brought the spark with his energy, positivity, and volume on the court. Not only did he have great sportsmanship, but his stats were another reason we made it to the gold bracket. He had 4 aces, 10 digs, and 3 kills for the day. Congratulations Owen Sullivan! Keep up with good work.

A few other shout outs for the boys that received pins for this tournament. Patrick Moritz earned himself a Top Server pin with 6 aces against IAM 12 girls White. Aaron Gundrum and Edison Mock both received one overpass kill pin during the day. Way to work hard this weekend boys!

13 RED

13 Red was excited to get their season underway, especially playing at their new home facility. Matched up against 4 other teams in a 5-team round robin the team had two big goals...#1 - be ready for change. A big goal this season is that girls are going to learn how to play multiple positions early on. Throughout the day the lineup changed every single set. The girls did a great job learning while playing which isn't easy to do. They persevered through some challenging situations and we talked about how being comfortable with change and going outside their comfort zone are going to be important factors this season. #2 - focus on the process and not the outcome. All teams are shaking off the rust and fine tuning their skills...physical errors happen a lot at this point of the season. The girls did a great job of focusing on the things they can control...what our systems and philosophies are and doing our best to put them into play. At the end of the tournament, the team finished 4-0 in match play and 8-0 in set play to win the tournament. A strong start to a strong season ahead!

13 WHITE

The 13 White team fought hard at the Reindeer Rumble. Though we ended up 1-3, the girls played hard & learned a lot. Set one we had some rotation confusion as well as some first game jitters, but once we ironed out those kinks we were a well-oiled machine for the rest of the tournament. Our second match was against the I AM 13 Black team. The girls got some momentum going and led at multiple points of the match. The second set we ended up battling to 25-27. Though, in the end, the Black team ended up outplaying us and

came out with the W’s. It was a great opportunity to play against the other I AM 13 teams and to see their gameplay as well. The third match of the day, the girls learned just how important serving is, as the opposing team struggled to get serves over or in, which gave us a great advantage. Our serving game was on fire; Destasia even earned an Ace pin for 5 aces in a match! We ended up winning both sets by a pretty large spread. It was a well-deserved win! Emery stepped up big time as the libero after our other libero ended up getting sick and having to leave the tourney. Emery was quiet but fierce & focused. The girls all are learning they have to communicate with each other in order to be successful as well. We have lots of things to take back to practice that we need to work on, but Coach Matt & Erin are so proud of the girls for showing up for every set!

14 RED

Oh What Fun…it was to be back in the gym at the Reindeer Rumble last weekend! 14 Red came to play and took home the Championship in our first tourney of the season!

We started out pool play against NSVBC beating them 25-19 & 25-8! The girls were excited to start out the season and played solid for the first time out.  We had some steady serving and passing throughout the day, highlighted by our libero Elin Winkler. Next we took on I AM 14 White and won 25-2, 25-18 with some tough and consistent serving from Grace Ross-Corbett and June Fassbender. The last match for pool play we beat Inferno 25-6, 25-9 earning the #1 seed in the gold bracket.

South Shore Slam was first up for the semifinals. Our offense stepped up to help us win

25-13, 25-23…and on to the Championship vs. I AM 14 black! It was a competitive match with us taking the first set 25-16 and I AM black taking the second 23-25. The 3rd set was tight and exciting throughout! We had back-to-back blocks down the stretch that helped us pull out the victory!!  Can’t wait to see how this team develops throughout the year!!

14 GOLD

14 gold had a solid start to the season finishing second place in the silver bracket. The team showed strong serving improvements with multiple players getting over five aces in a single match (Maggie, Peyton, Carolyn, and Maggie again).  Middles Lilly and Audrey led the team in kills. Over all great start to the season!

15 RED

We took on the challenge of playing in the 16's division this weekend to test our might! We split in our pool play 2-2 winning against our 16 White and RVA Pink. We got pushed to our limits vs our 16 Black and Slam's 16 National team. We fought to the end but the fire power from those two teams were to much for us this early in the season.

Our crossover match was again 16 Gold team and we were able to run a 6-2 and have some success. Overall, I'm really happy with where we're starting this year and look forward to adding more as head into the power league in January!

15 WHITE

This past weekend, 15 White started off their season at I AM’s very own Reindeer Rumble. Overall, they went 2-3 placing second in the silver bracket! We were able to compete with a lot of the teams by switching up lineups to see the girls in different positions! It was a great first tournament with lots to be proud of and also lots of opportunities for growth! Shoutout to Lydia for being full of energy and enthusiasm when it came to pumping up the team. Also shoutout to Lexi for her amazing serving runs that earned her 2 ace pins! We are excited to be back in action soon!

18 RED

I AM 18 Red began their 2024-2025 season with a home opener at the club’s new facility in Cedarburg. The team had a dominating weekend from the start and finished 4-0 on the day, facing some tough talent along the way. Serving runs and controlling our side of the court were the biggest factors in the team’s success. I AM 18 Red was able to work on free ball plays, a couple lineup variations, and connections on both the front and back row.

I AM 18 Red had a thriller of a match against the 17 Red team. The team had a comfortable lead for most of set one, but a serving run by the 17’s team kept them in it. They ended up stealing set one 25-27 after a strong finish. But I AM 18 Red did not let this affect them. The team stayed in control and won the next two sets, their first 3 set match of the season.

The team will enjoy some time away for Christmas break and will pick back up in the New Year for more practices. I AM 18 travels locally for the first weekend of Badger Region Power League in mid January.
