First day of Power League went quite well. Our girls clearly outmatched our first 2 opponents with devastating serving runs and crisp transitions when we received freeballs; both aspects of the game we've worked extensively on. I'm certain that we will be handing out a bunch of ace pins this week! In our third match, against a very aggressive serving Sting 12 Silver team, we received significant contributions from each player in a much tougher match. Kennedy Hiller and Jaidyn Alexander not only made really good decisions during longer rallies, they did a wonderful job dealing with stressful plays that required them to negotiate the net, including an incredible left-handed dump by Jaidyn to seal the first set win; one of which we started down 0-7. Reagan Vogelsang provided a punishing run of serves a couple of times during the match, while Lyla McDonough and Stella Walter played solid and first contacts that kept us in system (while managing the height of their passes-another emphasis during practice). What was also noteworthy in our wins Sunday was the steady, intelligent, and purposeful play of our middles, Hanlee Kellerman and Aaliyah Cline. Their competency at the net on overpasses, when to block, when to swing, and when to tip, is natural. Lastly, our other 3 pin hitters, Payton Hemsing, Esabella Pauly, and Sarah Heitzkey, did a great job of making smart, and purposeful plays, when they were set the ball. The minimizing of hitting errors, on our first weekend, going 3-0, was great to see!

First weekend of BR Power League under our belts. We came out strong in our first set against MWP, but let them score a few more points the second set… but not enough to win! We kept the lead to start the day off with a match win. Then we played a Sting 11s team, lost the first set, but gained momentum and took the second and third from them. Our last opponent was Burlington Elite, and we worked hard against them, but they had aggressive serves and a strong offensive that gave them the edge over us. Even though we took the loss, we controlled the ball better for the second set and only lost by by 3.
#shoutout to Ava for filling in as a setter and Ellis for her consistent backrow performance.
Olivia, Aalysah and Ava got #overpasskill pins and Greta earned a #topserver pin. #MVP goes to Hazel, who has been our floor captain and played every game all the way around. She is always hustling, whether she’s setting in the front row or play defense. I’m really impressed with the overall team effort and comradery on and off the court, excited to see how we finish in Power League!

Badger Region Power League...a new experience for this 13 Red group! After our preseason invite and the holiday break, this group couldn't wait to get started. We knew playing in the Elite Division and being an age younger than most of the teams was going to come with challenges but the girls were ready to meet them head on. Throughout the weekend the emphasis was communication, energy, and being a goldfish (short-term memory to help move on from early season mistakes). We showed drastic improvement on all three of these items throughout the weekend. These are all things that we can control regardless of opponent and identifying them as non-negotiables was essential. We continue to work through many different combinations in our lineup and it's been exciting to see what everyone can do. After the dust settled from six matches, we found ourselves 5-1 on the weekend with an 11-3 set record which clinched us 1st place in our pool...an awesome early season accomplishment for this group! There is still a lot more to learn and do this season but celebrating these victories and the effort it took to make it happen is important. One thing that stuck out to me was how many pancakes this team got on the weekend...a true never say it's over mentality. Can't wait for the Prep Dig Resolution next weekend!

Week one of Badger Region Power League was successful for the 13 Black Girls! The team finished with an impressive 5-1 record, placing fourth overall, with only three 14’s teams ahead of them.

Day 1 the girls started 3-0 with all matches being sweeps. In Match 1, Bella Masse led the team with five consecutive aces in the first set, earning a pin. Jane McIntyre also earned a pin for her impressive overpass kill. Throughout Matches 2 and 3, Ellie Held was a standout, totaling 13 digs, 6 kills, and 6 aces. The final match of the day, against 14’s Oconomowoc, was a tough battle. Emma Timm, one of our liberos, made several key digs late in each set, finishing with 10 digs in just two sets. Head Coach Brianna Lundt made two key timeouts that helped "ice" the other team's server. However, too many missed serves was our downfall, so heading into Day 2, our goal was to improve our consistency.
On Sunday, 13 Black played two matches and came out with wins in both. In the first match, which was another sweep, Emma Schwendimann went on an incredible serving run, delivering 6 serves, 4 of which were aces. Defensive specialist Sydney Massart played a key role with great back-row swings, providing a steady outlet for Emma’s sets. Match 2 was intense, with standout digs from defensive specialist Taylor Kellerman and libero Roxy Ehley keeping long rallies alive. The match went to a third set, where a powerful line-shot kill by right-side hitter Alannah Donath secured the win.
The team is excited for the challenges ahead and is looking forward to next weekend’s competition!

14 Red took care of business going 6-0 on the weekend without dropping a set! We advance to bracket A of the power league which will take place February 8-9. We are getting used to playing with each other and continue to work on communicating more and more in all situations. We had several strong serving runs by multiple players, highlighted by setter Grace Ross-Corbett with 23 aces on the weekend! As a team we had 63 aces and only 27 misses which is pretty remarkable!
Our attackers have been working on being more aggressive at the net and we are starting to see those results. We had several players earn overpass kill pins as well! We are looking forward to our weekend up in Appleton to continue to push ourselves to get better with every match.

14 Black had a good start for Badger Power League as we went 6 and 0 on the weekend. First match early on Saturday against a young WI Juniors team. Abby began the day with 15 serves to set the tone for the weekend. The girls didn't look back and finished the first match pretty quick. Next match our tenacious defense was highlighted as WI Premier had a bit more offense. Finally match of the day was another showcase of aggressive serving that put WI Elite out of system for most of the match. Backed by the defense and bolstered by some fun scramble plays we closed Saturday pretty proud of our work.
Sunday continued much of the same - serving to force out of system from opponents and running our offense when given the ball back.
A few key notes: We played a different line up each match. This allowed several girls to get game play from different positions. Usually when this occurs there is confusion and stress on the court, but not with this group. Each player accepted their role, and while maybe individually uncomfortable, the team never looked out of sorts. I only called 1 timeout all weekend. Each time the opposite team started to get momentum, the girls were able to get through with no more then a 4 point run.
We set a pretty high bar and I'm looking forward to continuing to push higher.
14 WHITE

I AM Volleyball 14 White had a dominant first weekend of the Badger Region Power League going 6-0 in matches all in straight sets. The ball control and winning the serve/pass game was the standout difference. Through 12 sets they only allowed an opponent to reach 20 points once and 5 times held them to 16 or less! 14 White really started racking up pins in their first tournament stockpiling aces was a big key to their victories. Tallying a total of 85 aces with Kierstyn West, Jovie McDonough (2), Brianna Miller, Dani Williquette, Katie Weeden, and Edie Varney all earning a serving pin for 5 or more aces in a match. Additionally Dani Williquette, Hannah Kelley, and Katie Weeden smashed down an overpass to earn a pin. Also contributing to the success with some timely, well placed shots when we needed them was Stella Seidemann who also earned a joust pin. The story of the weekend was how consistently good our serve receive and overall ball control was so shout out to our setters: Alaina Friend, Kierstyn West, and Hayden Rech and our passers: Katie Weeden, Edie Varney, Brianna Miller and our tournament MVP Jovie McDonough

A challenging weekend for 15 Red as take on 16's in the Elite Division at the Power League. We fast off aginst only one other 15's team which was the WI Juniors on day two and they brought speed that we haven't faced yet. A great learning opportunity on how and why in game adjustments will be crucial to success against certain teams. But overall this weekend was awesome! We play Midwest Penguins and had a total of 15 aces in two sets! Surprisingly, no one got a services pin so it was a team attack from the service line. We played Milwaukee Juniors and that was a great battle. They had some bug hitters and we showed resilience as we won game one and in game two we got rocked... With minds of a goldfish we quickly got over it and came out fired up for set 3 winning the match it a tight set.
#Shoutout to our Middles Sophie and Jesse. They went from getting blocked multiple times to swinging away for kills in set 3 to help us win!
Madtown Juniors also had big hitters and they took it to us pretty good... Give us a few months and we could give them a good run :)
Day two we also played 414 16 Blue and Reinas 16's. We did everything well and controlled both matches and had a lot of fun while doing it. Happy with the progress so far and we only just started! More to come this weekend as we head to Appleton.

The past 2 weekends back to back, 15 white has been able to compete and get better! Last weekend, we were up in Menasha where we were able to take 4th even with missing some player. We have been able to figure out some different lineups that can be utilized in situations like this one. This weekend, we went 4-2 for our first weekend of power league. During these games, the girls were able to learn how to play as a team, and focus on the things they had been working on in practice. Some of these things are blocking and serve receive as we had struggled with this before. After a slow start to the weekend, we were able to pull out some good wins by having aggressive serving and being scrappy which allowed us to pick up many difficult balls! Lydia even got a pancake pin! It was fun to see these girls working together and enjoying their time on and off the court! We are excited to have the weekend off, but will be back in action soon after!
15 GOLD
15 Gold had a very eventful weekend at our first weekend of power league! Our record ended up being 4-2! We had some good competition our first day, and we ended up winning our first game in two sets and our second game we lost in two. Our third game of the day was a nail bitter and very back a fourth. We took them to three sets but ultimately lost 15-12 in the third. On Sunday, the girls started off strong winning both sets 25-21 and 25-17. The next game we also won with a score of 25-20 and 25-10. The last game had the hardest competition of the day! We won the first set 28-26, lost the second 25-27, and we were able to push ahead in the third and take the set 15-13! Very proud of these girls for finishing and not giving up, despite how back and forth the game was! We gave out four ace pins to Emma, Harlow, Leighton, and Gianna! Our Saturday MVP went to Harlow for her consistency and only missed one serve all day! Our Sunday MVP went to Hailey for her overall playing and getting a lot of kills! Great weekend overall!

16 Black had a strong performance at the first Badger Region Power League tournament weekend, finishing with a 5-1 record across their matches. The team's offensive plays were a highlight, with several impressive kills throughout the weekend, showcasing their ability to execute under pressure. Additionally, serve receive improved as the tournament progressed, with athletes demonstrating better positioning and communication. While the team showed great strides in these areas, there are still opportunities for growth, particularly in serving. Earning top server pin for Saturday is defensive specialist, Abby Barthelemy, and top server pin for Sunday is middle, Ava Peterson. MVP of the tournament goes out to libero, Summer Willie! Ava Peterson and Leilah Prichard each smashed down an overpass, earning pins as well. Our setters, Amary Dione and Sierra Hoeft made smart decisions during long rallies, moving the ball around and throwing their opponent off with some beautiful setter dumps. Overall, the team demonstrated excellent teamwork and resilience, and with continued focus on serving, they are poised for even greater success moving forward.
16 WHITE
16 White had a great 1st weekend of Power League, finishing 5-1 overall. There was a big emphasis on starting tournaments and matches strong, and keeping our intensity throughout the day. The girls delivered for both days, and put us in great position to complete our team goal of finishing Power League in the Gold bracket.
#Shoutout to Izzie and Ruby, our team MVPs for the weekend!

Last weekend, 17 Red truly delivered, finishing the two-day Badger Region Power League with a flawless 6-0 record. The team dominated the competition, dropping only one set while playing with unmatched poise, skill, and determination.
From the first serve to the final whistle, 17 Red executed with precision, adapting seamlessly to every opponent and maintaining composure under pressure. Girls’ performance was a balanced showcase of powerful offensive attacks, consistent serving, multiple aces, and strong defensive coverage that kept opponents on their heels. Even in their lone three-set match, the team demonstrated incredible resilience and mental toughness to close out a hard-fought win.
Power League wasn’t just about teamwork but also individual brilliance. Emy and Anya earned top server pins for delivering more than five aces in a single match, while Ava, Grace, and Laila were recognized for their perfectly timed overpass kills. Emy kept the energy high with two outstanding pancake digs, and Katie wowed everyone with a stellar dig-turned-kill. On the offensive front, Grace had a standout weekend, hitting an impressive .500 with 23 kills. Anya led the tournament with 32 kills at a .351 hitting percentage, while Ava added 22 kills at .318 and anchored the team as a blocking leader with nine awesome stops.
Every player played a critical role, reinforcing the team’s unity and trust on the court. The performance by 17 Red is a true testament to the hard work and dedication ladies bring to every practice and match. 17 Red left no doubt they are a top contender in the league, setting an exciting tone for the season ahead.

Congratulations to 17 Red on an incredible weekend! 🏐🔥

17 Black was excited to be at home for the first week of Badger Region Power League. We started Saturday strong with a two set win over Milwaukee Juniors 17s. We lost two tough matches to JAG 17s and SWVBC 17s later that day.
Sunday brought more good vibes and we were ready to crush it. Our first win of the day was against Madison Elite 18s--taking them down in two sets. Then we rolled on to beat Madtown 17-3s in two sets as well! We knew our last match of the day was going to be a good one, as 414 17s also had two wins on the day. We stayed positive and powerful and won the match in two! Super proud of these girls for not dropping a set all day! That brought our overall record to 4-2 on the weekend.
#Shoutouts go to Molly for earning both a serving pin AND an ice pin
--where the opposing coach called a time out and she got an ace on the next point to win the set! Addie helped us out with some decisive swings during key points of the games. Khiah was nominated by an opposing team on Saturday for her killer serves and being all over the back row. Reese was electric on defense, totalling the most digs on the weekend! All three girls were awarded tournament MVP pins. Catch us this upcoming weekend when we travel to the Baird Center for the Winter Classic :)

I AM 18 Red stayed local this weekend and competed at the opening Power League weekend at Center Court in Waukesha. Saturday morning began with 1W Bay on the other side of the net. It took a moment to get in the groove, but the team never looked back after the first 10 points. They swept 1W 25-12 and 25-13. I AM got a little break before facing 608 Juniors. Juniors came out super strong in the first set, sealing a win from I AM 18-25 but that did not bother the team. With a fresh start in set two, I AM’s defense was reading well and phenomenal offense gave I AM the momentum to dominate the next two sets. They finished the match 25-17 and 15-6.
The day was not done yet, having one match left against the best competition. WI Juniors came out hot and in control. I AM did not give up but was not able to be on top for the match. The team fell 21-25, 21-25. I AM finished 2-1 on the day and ready to rest for Sunday mornings matches.
With a fresh start, I AM 18 came out with the same energy and excitement from the day before. The connections, chemistry, and mojo on the court could not be contained. Facing Premier first, the team began the day on a high note. I AM swept 25-10 and 25-15. This would be a common theme for the rest of the day. The next two matches were 2 set matches against 414, 25-22 and 25-20, and wrapping up versus Madtown, 25-10 and 25-11 consecutively. It was a weekend of consistent play and the team came out second in the pool with a record of 5-1.
The team continues to work hard in practice this week to prepare for another weekend of high quality volleyball as they travel to Milwaukee at the end of the week.
