All the boys head to Dale Rohde and few of our girl's teams compete this past weekend.
10 RED

The 10's team traveled to Center Court for the Revolution Open Tournament. Thankfully, there was no snow storm to battle so everyone arrived on time and ready to play! We started off strong and continued playing well throughout the day. It was pool play only with 5 teams total. Our toughest match was the last one, where we played against OVC Purple. During set two we were down by at least 7 points but were able to battle back and win. We won every match in two sets and played extremely well, getting better as the day went on. Our serving was especially great with a lot of runs of at least 4 aces! Our team got a lot of compliments from other coaches and spectators who were impressed with our aggressive play and teamwork. As a coach, those are great compliments to get. As a team, we are continuing to get better at three contacts and getting the second ball to our setter and court awareness. We have a weekend off and then will be playing in the Spring Fling Tournament in the 11s division. After that, Badger Region!

Dale Rohde Memorial Tournament U12 Champions!
Coming into the Dale Rohde Memorial Tournament seeded 5th out of 6 teams we started the tournament in a pool with two strong the boys knew we had to step up to the plate right away. Our first match was against Sting 12-2. Behind strong serving and consistent ball control the boys dominated the match winning both sets 25-19. Our next match was more of the same, I AM boys controlled the match consistently leaning in to what we have been working all season and putting it into practice: strong ball control, communication, solid passing form and a never give up spirit. Winning both sets easily - second set score winning 25-5. #SoManyServingPins
Winning our pool we had a bye in the cross over pools and ended our Saturday playing Sting 11 Boys. Another solid two set win and we went into Gold Division play undefeated on Sunday. Our Sunday play began with a solid semifinal win against Club W again. According to Alex - "Max was cooking" with a solid 5 kills in the match!

Heading into the finals we had to play a fiercely determined Sting 11s team. We handled the first set much like the rest of the weekend. Ball control, big swings from Ryan and playing to our strengths led to a solid first set win. Sting 11s wasn't going to give up - they came out strong in the 2nd set taking an 8-1 lead. For the first time in the weekend our boys were challenged. It was in this set that our boys showed their grit and determination. Down 21-13 in the second set, after having called my final timeout of the match our boys put on a clinic on the never give up spirit. Behind strong serving runs from Milo, Cole and Alex, quick defense from Drew and huge kills from Connor, Beckett and Luke we came back and won the 2nd set 25-23 for the CHAMPIONSHIP!
Every single boy on our team played a pivotal role this weekend! And we are so proud of how they play together as a team, trusting each other, talking to each other, listening to each other, encouraging each other and playing to each of their strengths. I can't wait to see where the rest of the season takes this team! They are phenomenal!

I AM VBC put forth an incredible effort this weekend at the tournament, facing strong teams like MVC, OVC, Sting, and Revolution. Though the final record was 1-8, the true highlight of the day was the hard work, determination, and teamwork displayed by every player. The tournament was a chance for our team to grow together, pushing through challenges and learning with every point played.
Each player brought something special to the table. Jude’s serves and attacks stood out as he played with confidence and aggression, always looking to make an impact on the game. His energy helped keep the team motivated, even when facing tough opponents. Chase, who played a pivotal role in setting and serving, showed incredible leadership throughout the tournament. His focus and smart decision-making in critical moments kept the team organized and moving forward. The way he set up plays and served with precision was a testament to his commitment to the team’s success.

One of the most impressive stories of the day was Josh, who stepped into the setting role for the first time. Despite the challenge, he showed great poise and quickly adapted to the position, helping to keep the offense flowing and providing valuable support to his teammates. His ability to step up in a new role and contribute to the team’s plays demonstrated the depth of our team’s potential.
Though we didn’t come away with a perfect record, the spirit and hard work of IAM VBC were undeniable. The team’s positive attitude, resilience, and willingness to keep improving were evident in every match. We’re excited to build on this experience and continue pushing forward, knowing that every match is an opportunity for growth. Great job, IAM VBC! Let’s keep working hard and supporting each other on this journey.

16 BOYS

This past weekend, our 16 Boys team battled through a competitive two-day tournament at the Dale Rohde Memorial tournament. While we finished 2-3, the level of volleyball we played was a huge leap forward from where we’ve been all season. This was the first time we truly saw what we’re capable of when we bring energy, discipline, and confidence to the court.
We proved we can start strong, winning our first match both days with confidence and high-level execution. Now, the focus is on building off that momentum and maintaining consistency throughout the tournament. If we stay locked in and bring the same intensity every match.
Standout Performances:
Jackson was absolutely on fire on Day 2, swinging aggressively and finding ways to score from all over the court. He brought consistent offensive firepower that kept us in tough matches.
Alex was a brick wall at the net, shutting down hitters and disrupting opposing offenses with well-timed blocks. His presence up front made a huge impact.

Matt was all over the court with unbelievable coverage, making clutch plays to extend rallies. His communication and leadership were key in keeping us organized and locked in.
Gabe dominated the service line, racking up aces and putting opponents on their heels with aggressive, well-placed serves. His ability to create pressure and momentum was a huge asset for us.
This weekend we played smarter, tougher, and more cohesive volleyball than we have all season. We are excited to get back and build on this momentum, refine the details, and bring our best for our final two!
